Dupre’ Executive Wins Major Safety Award

Monday, September 26, 2011

We’ve written (and will be writing) quite a bit about the importance of safety in every trucking operation and the impact that safety has on controlling total costs for both trucking companies and shippers. Dupre’s commitment to safety is unrivaled, enabling us to provide superior performance to our customers and employees.

On Thursday, September 23, the American Trucking Association (ATA) awarded the highest safety recognition in the country to Dupre’s Director of Safety and Training, Al LaCombe. Al’s award follows the ATA’s awarding Dupre’ the President’s Trophy acknowledging our safety performance results.

Al was recognized as the motor carrier safety executive whose professional qualifications, safety programs and achievements are deemed the most outstanding among his peers. He is a 26-year veteran of the Dupre’ management team and leads a support staff, including four Field Safety Representatives who coordinate safety programs for more than 1,000 Dupre’ employees.

With over 800 professional drivers on the Dupre’ team, the company traveled nearly 40 million miles in 2010. Al has created and implemented extensive injury and crash prevention programs to ensure that Dupre’ maintains its reputation as a company with a “culture of safety.”

As government regulation increases and shippers must find new and effective ways to improve their risk management approach, we’re happy to have Al Lacombe on the Dupre’ team.
