Dupré Logistics Hosts 12th Annual Client Colloquium in Houston

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Thursday, Dupré Logistics hosted its Annual Client Colloquium featuring a presentation by former running back and Heisman Trophy Winner Herschel Walker and a very informative presentation of The Changing Landscape of Truck Transportation by Dupre’ CEO Reggie Dupre’.

Herschel Walker, a three-time All American from the University of Georgia, 1982 Heisman Trophy Winner and a former Dallas Cowboy spoke to the audience about his illustrious athletic career, his upbringing in Wrightsville, Georgia and his life today as a Christian and businessman.

Walker was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1985 after 3 years with the New Jersey Generals of the USFL where he won the rushing title for two seasons. In the 1988 season, after rushing for 1,514 yards with the Cowboys, he was traded to Minnesota and eventually played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants before returning to the Cowboys to finish his career.

Walker retired from the NFL after the 1997 season and pursued a number of competitions—from bobsledding (participating in the 1992 Olympic games) to mixed martial arts.

During Walker’s illustrious career, he made two Pro Bowl teams and was named Sports Illustrated’s “NCAA Football All-Century Team”, and continues to hold the record for the only player to gain 4,000 yards in three different ways: rushing, receiving and kickoff returns.

“We find that this event is one that provides added value to our business partners. It not only strengthens our relationships with our clients as a trusted advisor, but also allows us to come together with them to plan for the future in a very informed way,” said Dupré Logistics President and COO Tom Voelkel.
