Dupré Logistics Joins Industry Group to Go the Extra Mile

Friday, October 12, 2012

Dupré Logistics has joined the Alliance for Driver Safety and Security (The Trucking Alliance), a small group of trucking companies that formed to lobby for a defined set of safety initiatives that affect the industry. The Alliance was established in 2010 in an effort to get the recent Electric On-Board Recorders (EOBR) mandate passed. Following the successful passage of the mandate, the Trucking Alliance has identified 6 additional initiatives that will make a positive impact on the industry.

“Our Trucking Alliance membership is evidence of our commitment to passing effective and important legislation,” said Reggie Dupré, Dupré CEO. “The 2012 Trucking Alliance initiatives align with our commitment to not only Dupré drivers’ safety but the safety of all in the industry.”

Currently, the alliance is focusing on mandatory speed limiters and improvements to drug and alcohol testing amongst other safety initiatives. Dupré is playing an important role in lobbying for the initiative surrounding their innovative fatigue management program. In addition to using fatigue management for ten years, Dupré uses predictive modeling (7 years) and Qualcomm and GreenRoad technologies to greatly reduce accidents. Combining fatigue management with measuring and analyzing driver data has gotten the company recognition nationwide as an innovator.

Dupré has recently been recognized for its role in implementing innovative safety programs as evidenced by numerous safety awards including the 2010 ATA President’s Trophy and Safety Director of the Year in 2011.

“We are proud to stand with like-minded companies, focusing on specific issues to achieve goals that will ultimately change the industry for good,” continued Dupré.
