Dupré Logistics Reorganizes Financial Team for Future Growth

Doug Place named Executive Vice President – Mark Roberts named CFO

Recently, Dupré Logistics promoted Mark Roberts to Chief Financial Officer, a move that allows the company to continue the process of expanding the capabilities of their Accounting, Finance, and technology groups to handle projected growth in the next five years. Former CFO Doug Place has been promoted to Executive Vice President and will focus on coordinating improvement projects and coordinating specific cross functional projects.

The reorganization of the financial team is a continuation of Dupré’s pursuit to provide the most effective and efficient service to their clients.

“We believe that this strategic re-alignment will allow our team to support a growing number of specialized and efficient logistics solutions and more importantly, better service for our clients,” said Tom Voelkel, Dupré President and COO. Voelkel continued, “Dupré is lucky to have the strong leadership, expertise and character of both Doug and Mark to guide us as Dupré continues to grow.”

Roberts has been with the company for two years and said, “Performance excellence is my passion so it is exciting to work with a company committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.”

Previously Dupré’s Treasurer and Director of Finance and Accounting, Mr. Roberts holds a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant and is Certified in Financial Forensics. Before joining Dupré, Roberts had extensive experience in the logistics industry as a CFO. His expertise makes him particularly well positioned to focus on technical accounting, financial proficiency and problem solving for Dupré. In 2000, he was Ranked #1 in the Wall Street Journal “The Best on The Street” ranking of investment analysts. He serves on several boards and contributes his time with several non-profit organizations.

A 21-year veteran of Dupré, Mr. Place previously served as CFO helping to lead the company through a period of accelerated growth. A graduate of Mississippi State University, Place holds a B.S. in Business Statistics – Data Processing and a Master of Business Administration. He previously worked at Lou Ana Foods, Miss Win Inc. and as a Senior Manager at Arthur Andersen both nationally and abroad. Place is involved with and serves on several industry-related and non-profit boards such as the Louisiana Motor Transport Association and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, and the I-49 South Coalition.
