Dupré Promotes Al Lacombe to Vice President of Safety and Risk Management

(LAFAYETTE, LA) – Today leading capacity solutions provider Dupré Logistics announced the promotion of Al Lacombe to Vice President of Safety and Risk Management. Starting as a driver, Al has subsequently grown the company into a leader in safety nationwide.

“Al has led Dupré to become a leader in safe operation and an innovator in many technologies which ensure safe operation,” stated Reggie Dupré CEO of Dupré Logistics. “Al embodies what it means to be a Dupré team member. He is a businessman, a gentleman, and big part of why we have been successful here at Dupré. It has been a privilege and pleasure to work with Al for over 35 years.” stated Dupré.

Mr. Lacombe began working at Dupré in May of 1982 as a professional driver and served in that role for 3 years. Al then worked in the operations center as a dispatcher for one year. Al was then promoted to the Director of Safety and has served in that role until this most recent promotion to Vice President.
He is a Certified Director of Safety through the North American Transportation Management Institute. He is active in numerous transportation associations including the National Tank Truck Association, American Trucking Association, Safety and Loss Prevention Council, Louisiana Motor Trucking Association, and the Texas Trucking Association.

In 1990, Al was chosen as the Safety Director of the Year for the State of Louisiana. In 2011, Al was recognized as the American Trucking Association’s Safety Director of the Year. Al currently serves as the American Trucking Association’s national Chairman of its Safety Management Council. Al and his wife, Sandra, reside in Branch, LA and are the proud parents of 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.
